Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, access points, parking, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access, verify authorization, and maintain visitor/vehicle/incident records per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and coordinate with site contacts and responders.
• Help maintain an orderly environment at utility operations by reporting security-related concerns.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Driver Patrol in FAIRFAX, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.22 / Hour

Job Schedule:

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility customers by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access concerns.
• Monitor access to assigned locations, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders when required.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly environment at water utility operations by reporting maintenance, infrastructure, and security‑related concerns through established channels.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
