Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Guard in Sterling, VA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide excellent customer service in a technology-focused environment.

The role requires ages 18+ (21+ for armed roles) and a high school diploma. You will work Tue and Wed 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with the option to claim additional shifts via our platform. A background check and drug screen may be required.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, vendors, and contractors by following access control procedures and site policies.
• Verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain access logs and records.
• Respond calmly to alarms, incidents, and critical situations per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, restricted areas, and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and leadership about access issues and policy violations.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.29 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue and collect visitor passes, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
• Respond to access control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, restricted areas, business spaces, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access-related issues, incidents, and policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
