Description of Work

The primary purposes of the Museum Security Guard position are to protect the NCMA art collection and provide security for the staff and visitors to the park and Museum proper.

Key Responsibilities

• Walking and standing for long periods of time while patrolling galleries and outdoor events.
• Providing day-to-day security and protection of the Museum of Art facility, works of art, and visitors.
• Providing security for special events that could include concerts, park festivals, and other types of programming that take place at the museum.
• Being attentive to break schedules and gallery assignments by staying within assigned area(s).
• Work schedule can include workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays to include overtime on occasions.

Recruitment Range: $31,200-$37,000

Position/Physical Requirements

• Typical work schedule is Wednesday-Sunday, 8am-5pm, 40 hours a week.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Must have ability to be on feet most of the day with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must be available to work weekends.
