Prospect Park YMCA – Security Guard – Full Time – Open Position

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and well‑being of participants and staff by providing close supervision of facilities and controlling access into the facility and exit ways.
  • Adhere to all Department of Health, Department of Youth & Community Development, NYCHA, and YMCA of Greater New York standards.
  • Patrol facility to detect all infractions of house rules and report to the proper authorities.
  • Maintain fire and safety logbooks in accordance with facility requirements and sign participants and visitors daily.
  • Participate as an active member of the fire brigade and provide MOD coverage when required.
  • Communicate program information to participants and visitors effectively.
  • Investigate incidents and document them thoroughly; document and report all incidents/accidents immediately.
  • Supervise youth participants in hallways to ensure health, safety, and well‑being.
  • Arrive on time, in uniform, and prepared to work at shift beginning.
  • Keep the check‑in area neat, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Assist with general housekeeping tasks when necessary.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of security experience.

  • NYS Certified Security Guard License preferred.
