Job summary

Palmdale Regional Medical Center in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Security Officer to protect staff, patients, and visitors. You will patrol premises, deter incidents, investigate and document findings, and respond to alarms and emergencies.

Requirements include two years of security or law enforcement experience, a High School diploma or equivalent, a CA Guard Card, and CPI certification within 30 days of hire. A CA driver license and strong communication/computer skills are needed.

• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.
• Current Guard Card required; CPI certification within 30 days of hire.

Position Description:

Serve and safeguard all the hospital customers. Is responsible for the surveillance of the hospital premises and the protection of the staff, members, and visitors. The Security Officer is responsible for detecting and preventing any suspicious activity, observing and reports incidents, and provides customer service in a friendly and professional manner. Patrols buildings and grounds of the hospital and prevent fires, theft and vandalism. Inspect doors, windows, and locks to determine the level of security. Ensures only authorized personnel are admitted onto hospital premises. Maintains current information in lost and found logs. Write incident reports and documents investigatory steps and results.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• Two years of experience in the field of law enforcement and/or security or equivalent (preferred)
• High School Graduate/Equivalent preferred.
• Written and verbal communications, interpersonal skills.
• Basic organizational and computer skills.
• Current Guard Card required
• Assaultive Behavior Management certification (CPI) required within 30 days of hire
• Current CA driver license required
