Job summary

LifeSpire of Virginia is seeking a Security Guard for the 3:00PM-11:30PM shift at our Richmond community. The role focuses on safeguarding residents, staff, visitors, and buildings, with routine patrols and incident response.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, English proficiency, and at least 1 year in customer service or security. A valid driver’s license and ability to relate to seniors are preferred.

Qualifications

• English reading, writing and verbal communication.
• Valid driver's license with clean background.
• Experience in customer service or security preferred.
• Ability to relate to senior adults.

Responsibilities

• Makes repeated security and safety rounds inside and outside of community buildings.
• Follows security schedules and job routines.
• Clearly & concisely communicates in a professional, courteous, and pleasant manner with all residents, visitors, & team members.
• Responds to residents' urgent care needs and dispatches appropriate responses.
• Uses campus emergency response system and related computer programs.
• Works with the SARA system.
• Uses daily equipment including vehicles, radios, computers, carts, and phones.
• Complies with infection control regulations, guidelines, and policies.
• Assists in in-servicing related to security such as fire drills and emergency evacuations.
• Maintains logs and records in a timely and accurate fashion.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Makes repeated security and safety rounds inside and outside of community buildings
• Follows security schedules and job routines
• Clearly & concisely communicates in a professional, courteous, and pleasant manner with all residents, visitors, & team members
• Quickly, accurately, and appropriately interprets and responds to resident's urgent care needs and dispatch appropriate response(s) to calls for assistance
• Uses personal computers and programs tied to the campus emergency response system
• Works in conjunction with SARA system
• Uses equipment daily including vehicles, radios, computers, carts, phones, computers
• Complies with infection control regulations, guidelines, and policies
• Assists in in-servicing relating to security such as fire drills, emergency evacuation
• Maintains appropriate logs and records in a timely and accurate fashion

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service setting as security or related field is preferred
• Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions and converse in English
• Valid driver's license with a clean background
• Must be able to relate to the needs and concerns of senior adults
