Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Durham, NC. This role focuses on unarmed patrols, customer service, and incident response at healthcare locations with fixed shifts and options to pickup additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You’ll work part-time with the potential to increase hours up to 40 per week and earn a competitive hourly rate. Training and career growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background check as required by law.
• Drug screen required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following site-specific policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, alarms, and critical situations calmly and in line with established protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as requested.
• Document incidents and patrol activities accurately and communicate information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Support in Durham, NC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.46 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site‑specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, medical‑related emergencies, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as requested, and report suspicious activity or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
