Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control at a manufacturing and industrial site in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain access-related logs and records.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to the property, direct authorized personnel and deliveries to designated areas, and report unauthorized access attempts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns and help to deter unauthorized activity.
