Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a dedicated security professional to protect our pastoral centers, employees, and visitors. You will patrol buildings, greet people, and coordinate with facilities staff to maintain safety and calm in tense situations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of a police academy or security certification, 5 years of security experience (or 1 year as a police officer), a valid IL driver’s license, and availability for second shift.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED with Security certification or Police Academy completion.
• 5 years of security background or 1 year as police officer.
• Ability to think quickly and react to varied situations with discipline.
• Valid IL Driver’s License and availability for second shift.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security for all employees and visitors.
• Keep current on emergency procedures and safety equipment.
• Greet employees and visitors as they enter the buildings.
• Walk through interior and exterior of all buildings to ensure security.
• Watch for and report suspicious behavior.
• Secure all windows, doors, gates, etc.
• Coordinate with Building Engineers and front desk staff as needed.
• Maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations.
• Shift may rotate across pastoral center locations.
