Armed position: candidates must carry and operate firearms in accordance with company policy, contract requirements, and North Carolina law. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, reliability, and professionalism in all security duties.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to possess and carry a firearm under federal and state law.
• Must have a North Carolina PPSB Armed Security Guard Registration Permit or be eligible to obtain one.
• Must maintain firearms qualifications and training as required by contract and law.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and endure standing/walking for long periods.

As an armed security position, personnel are required to carry and operate firearms in the performance of assigned duties in accordance with company policy, contract requirements, and applicable laws, while exercising sound judgment and professionalism at all times.

Responsibilities

• Carry and operate firearms in accordance with company policies, contract requirements, and applicable laws.
• Conduct patrols and monitor premises using surveillance systems, access control points, and other security measures.
• Control and authorize the entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, and authorized personnel.
• Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and other critical situations.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and site-specific security protocols.
• Maintain situational awareness and identify potential security risks, hazards, or suspicious activities.
• Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely incident reports, logs, and other required documentation.
• Follow the established chain of command and comply with all lawful directives from supervisors and management.
• De-escalate conflicts and manage disturbances in a professional, calm, and controlled manner.
• Ensure the proper handling, storage, maintenance, and accountability of assigned weapons and equipment.
• Maintain all required licenses, permits, certifications, and weapon qualifications in accordance with contract requirements and applicable laws.
• Successfully complete and maintain all required training, firearms qualifications, certifications, drills, and physical fitness standards.
• Adhere to all use-of-force policies, weapons handling procedures, and safety standards.
• Support emergency response operations, including evacuations, crisis management, and business continuity efforts.
• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and standard of conduct at all times.
• Shift hours are Monday-Sunday 6:00AM - 6:00PM, or 6:00PM to 6:00AM, but extended or holiday hours may be required.
• Work conditions can vary from a busy training environment to field work, both subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold, and humidity.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and one year of previous security, military or equivalent law enforcement experience required.
• Must be legally authorized to possess and carry a firearm under federal and state law.
• Must possess a current North Carolina PPSB Armed Security Guard Registration Permit or be eligible to obtain one prior to assignment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Firearms Registration Permit issued through the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (PPSB).
• Must meet all PPSB training, qualification, and background requirements for armed security personnel.
• Ability to obtain a North Carolina Guard Card.
• NCPPSB qualified preferred.
• Must be in good physical condition and able to perform job duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, and responding to emergency situations.
• Must be able to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 100 lbs.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license and satisfactory driver record.
• Must be willing to operate a Company vehicle.
• Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
