Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Flex Officer for the San Diego, CA area. The role leverages our shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts, enabling flexible scheduling across multiple client sites while gaining hands-on experience.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; CA guard card; background check and drug screen; and a valid driver’s license. No prior security experience is required; strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws and regulations may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
• Background check and drug screen required by Allied Universal.
• No prior security experience required.
• Be at least 18 years of age (21 if armed).
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Able to operate radio/telephone equipment and/or consoles.
• Strong communication and ability to interact with the public.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department if needed.
• Monitor entrances and exits and control access for authorized personnel.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.
