Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineering Manager focused on AI for security across web and mobile platforms. You will lead a team of engineers, shaping multi-year roadmaps and scalable security solutions for Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger.

You will hire and mentor engineers, collaborate with Product, Data Science and Data Engineering, and drive metrics for attack enumeration and detection coverage in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in Security.
• 8+ years in Security or Software Engineering, including 3+ years in hands-on technical management in security engineering.
• Proven track record of supporting security research, engineering, or other technical teams.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional programs and working across organizational boundaries.

Summary:

Meta’s security team is the central engine driving data and system security. We work across all parts of the company, from corporate infrastructure to production to external services, interfacing with nearly every team in the company.We are looking for a Security Engineering Manager to support a team of engineers using AI to scale security across Meta’s products. You’ll support a team of security engineers who specialize in web and mobileOS security. You will be working across engineering teams supporting Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Your team will be developing, deploying, and managing automation to find, fix, mitigate, and prevent vulnerabilities.

2. 8+ years of experience in Security or Software Engineering, including 3+ years of hands‑on technical management in security engineering or security software engineering in product‑driven environments
3. Proven track record of supporting security research, engineering, or other technical teams
4. Demonstrated experience in working across organizational boundaries to achieve company-wide impact
5. Experience leading and managing complex cross‑functional programs
6. Scripting experience with an interpreted programming language (PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.)
7. Broad knowledge across security, systems design, offensive security, and detection engineering domains

1. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
2. Background in security‑focused software engineering, designing large scale systems and data pipelines, or in offensive security
3. Expertise in one or more security domains such as web application security, Android security, and iOS security
4. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
5. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
6. Broad knowledge across the Security domain, as well as deep focus in one (or more) areas such as vulnerability detection and prevention

$184,000/year to $257,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
