Job summary

Verkada is seeking a security engineering leader to collaborate with the Developer Experience engineering team. You will perform threat models, security design reviews, and refine security tools that enable secure software throughout the SDLC.

You will define the security roadmap, set priorities, and partner with engineering and product to strengthen Verkada’s products. You will also create and operate a bug bounty program and share security knowledge across teams and at conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience as a security engineer, software engineer, site reliability engineer, or security consultant.
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP) and security design across SDLC.
• Proficiency in Python/Go and scripting; strong collaborative and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate security baked into applications across the software development lifecycle.
• Evangelize software security best practices through training and information sharing.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to improve product security and exceed customer expectations.
• Set up security tooling and secure defaults to ensure best practices.
• Perform architecture analysis, threat modeling, and design reviews of sensitive features.
