Job summary

McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Information Technology department. You will design, implement, and continuously improve the firm’s cybersecurity program, reporting to the CIO.

This high-impact role requires solving complex challenges, strengthening resilience, and embedding security into technology operations. The ideal candidate will lead incident response, risk management, and security architecture initiatives while partnering with teams across the firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in cybersecurity program leadership and complex initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of modern security architectures and zero-trust.
  • Hands-on with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability tools.
  • Familiar with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, SOC 2 guidance.
  • Experience with SAML, OAuth, LDAP, and IAM best practices.
  • Scripting in PowerShell and Python; ability to automate tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain enterprise security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, SIEM).
  • Lead security strategy, incident response, and risk management efforts.
  • Coordinate security across IT, cloud, and business teams.
  • Develop policies aligned with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001.
  • Oversee identity management and access review programs.
  • Drive security architecture and major security-focused projects.
  • Mentor staff and communicate risk to non-technical audiences.
