Job summary

Meta is seeking a highly motivated Security Intern to contribute to the Security Posture Management team. You will learn and apply security engineering principles while helping safeguard Meta's critical infrastructure during Summer 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in CS or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience coding in Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust or C/C++.
• Familiar with distributed systems, software security, cloud computing.
• Must have work authorization in country of employment.
• Experience using metrics to measure service effectiveness.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, SaltStack, Ansible.
• Contributions to security or privacy community (OSS, research, blogging, talks).
• Intend to return to full-time degree program after completion of the internship.

The Security Posture Management team’s mission lies at the intersection of empowering engineers to work efficiently with minimal friction and maintaining the highest standards of security controls for our critical infrastructure. We are looking for a highly motivated Intern who is eager to learn and passionate about security engineering!

As an Intern on our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the security of Meta's infrastructure while developing your skills in a collaborative and supportive environment. This internship, starting Summer 2027, is an exciting opportunity if you are interested in solving complex security problems and want to gain hands-on experience with innovative engineering solutions.

• Must be in the process of obtaining a BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• Proven written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical issues to both security and non-security audiences
• Experience writing code in Python, PHP, Java, Ruby, Go, Rust, C/C++, or similar languages
• Familiarity in one or more of the following areas - distributed systems, software security, cybersecurity, computer security, cloud computing
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
• Experience using metrics to measure service and program effectiveness and consistency
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools (e.g., Terraform, SaltStack, Ansible) through classes, labs, previous internships, or personal projects
• Contributions to the security or privacy community (public research, OSS, blogging, presentations, etc.)
• Intent to return to full-time degree program after completion of the internship
