Job summary

Cybersecurity Jobs in Model, CO (onsite) seeks a Security Engineer – Lead to support RMF execution and FISMA-driven operations across enterprise and classified environments.

The role leads cybersecurity engineering for enterprise systems, designs and implements security controls, and aligns with RMF and FISMA requirements. You will contribute to continuous monitoring, engineering governance, and secure configurations within government facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in cybersecurity/IT/engineering.
• Strong experience in cybersecurity engineering and enterprise implementation.
• Translating security requirements into technical designs and controls.
• Experience in secure enterprise environments, including federal systems.
• Familiarity with RMF-driven control implementation and continuous monitoring.
• Experience using MITRE ATT&CK for defense coverage and remediation planning.
• Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security administration.
• Ability to work in classified government environments.
• Strong technical writing and stakeholder communication skills.
• CISSP, ISSEP, and Splunk ES Admin certifications.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance (final).

Job description

Security Engineer – Lead supports RMF execution and FISMA-driven operations across enterprise and classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity engineering activities for enterprise systems and security capabilities
• Design, implement, and continuously improve technical security controls and security engineering practices
• Support implementation and optimization of security engineering practices aligned to RMF and FISMA requirements
• Assist with development and maintenance of secure configurations, engineering standards, and technical documentation
• Support implementation and optimization of continuous monitoring and automation capabilities
• Support engineering efforts focused on operational security tooling and overall platform effectiveness
• Provide engineering guidance for security monitoring, infrastructure protection, systems hardening, and secure integration
• Use MITRE ATT&CK to identify control gaps, express defensive coverage limitations, and prioritize technical remediation
• Support technical implementation, administration, and engineering activities for Splunk Enterprise Security
• Coordinate with operational, engineering, and government stakeholders to align technical implementation priorities
• Support assessments, engineering reviews, and security improvements across systems and environments
• Ensure engineering deliverables are accurate, complete, and aligned with mission needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent experience
• Strong experience in cybersecurity engineering, systems security, and enterprise technical implementation
• Experience translating security requirements into technical designs and operational controls
• Experience supporting secure enterprise environments, including complex and high-visibility federal systems
• Familiarity with RMF-driven control implementation, secure system integration, engineering governance, and continuous monitoring support
• Experience using MITRE ATT&CK for defensive coverage assessment, gap identification, and remediation planning
• Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security administration and security engineering support
• Ability to work effectively in classified environments within government controlled secure facilities
• Strong technical writing, engineering documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
