Job summary
Amazon HealthSec Security Operations is hiring a Security Engineer to defend customer data and secure healthcare information across Amazon Healthcare products. You will drive cross-team coordination, detection, monitoring management, and incident response for medical services.
You will collaborate with detection teams to improve alerts, perform risk assessments, and guide engineering on security best practices, including network security and identity management.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar OO language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent

- Support security incident investigations related to infrastructure
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide ad hoc support to customers during non-business hours
- Drive security automation efforts including monitoring, triage, and alerting for key security risks

Job description
You will get to work closely with our detection and monitoring organizations to define new ways to detect activities that may impact our customers and their health records. You will also get to work with other Security engineers from across HealthSec to drive new solutions into our systems to help secure data at a design and implementation level.

- 2+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
- 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
- Experience or understanding of HIPAA regulations

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
