Security Engineer, Identity and Access Management

Job ID: 10516566 | Amazon.com Services LLC

Are you passionate about securing identity systems at global scale? The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Security team is seeking a Security Engineer to help protect and improve authentication and authorization across Amazon's Stores, Digital, and Other (SDO) organizations.

In this role, you will:

  • - Participate in architectural reviews and threat models for identity systems
  • - Develop and support requirements for Amazon's IAM security initiatives
  • - Improve access management infrastructure across a complex global environment
  • - Provide authN/authZ design review and threat modeling services across the enterprise
  • - Implement and maintain automated security audits for identity workflows
  • - Collaborate with business teams on technologies such as FIDO2, Kerberos, Single Sign-On, and Passwordless Authentication

We invest in deeply understanding the different ways Amazon does business to devise strategies that meaningfully improve security posture while enabling business productivity. You'll work on difficult problems independently, influence service teams, and drive security outcomes across teams.

Data-driven decisions are important to us. You will draw heavily on your experience collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data to create compelling communications to peer teams and leadership.

If you're excited about securing identity at scale and have experience with modern authentication protocols, we'd love to hear from you.

  • - Participate in architectural reviews, threat models, and secure design consultations for identity systems

  • - Conducting security code reviews on identity protocol implementations (OAuth, SAML, OIDC)
  • - Writing and maintaining Python scripts to automate security audits and generate compliance reports
  • - Consulting with business teams on passwordless authentication, FIDO2, and SSO deployments
  • - Analyzing alerts from detection tools and investigating identity security events
  • - Communicating findings and security recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
About the team
