Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day security support, ticketing, and monitoring of the Galen network, employee and student accounts, and email.
• Discover security issues and vulnerabilities continuously, track phishing attempts, monitor traffic from blocked countries, and investigate VPN access attempts from these regions.
• Assist the network team with implementing network security measures and monitor alerts and notifications, reporting to leadership.
• Stay updated on security vulnerabilities related to organizational applications, software, and devices.
• Develop remediation plans and research solutions for security issues.
• Implement security best practices, hardening guidelines, and other security measures.
• Review security requests from other teams, assess their security implications, and determine necessary controls.
• Configure and maintain firewalls in collaboration with the network team.
• Respond to security alerts, incidents, and perform security analyst duties as needed.
• Conduct risk and security assessments, threat hunting, and evaluate new security technologies.
• Perform basic red teaming and penetration testing within the Galen environment.
• Provide support and consulting on security issues and evaluate cloud and DevOps security.
• Assist with security awareness activities and other duties as assigned by the Cybersecurity Manager.
