Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Security Engineer specializing in Android in Mountain View, CA. This contract role offers hybrid work and a path to long-term opportunities.

You will lead security assessments, perform vulnerability analyses, and collaborate with engineers to embed SSDLC and security best practices across Android platform features and launches. Knowledge of SAST/DAST and GenAI in security is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in software development using Java and/or Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience in application or platform security engineering.
• Deep understanding of Android OS internals and Android platform security concepts.
• Experience performing security risk assessments and security design reviews.
• Hands-on experience with penetration testing, SAST, DAST, fuzzing tools, and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and communicate technical security risks to stakeholders.
• Previous experience working on Android platform security or Android system-level components.
• Participation in bug bounty programs or demonstrated vulnerability research experience.
• Experience securing XR/VR platforms or emerging device technologies.
• Experience applying Generative AI to security analysis, testing, or operational workflows.
• Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) and modern application security practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security risk assessments for Android platform features and product launches.

• Execute and analyze results from security testing tools, including SAST, DAST, fuzzers, and penetration testing.
• Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional teams to communicate security findings and drive remediation efforts.
• Evaluate security implications of new Android platform capabilities and provide technical guidance.
• Leverage GenAI tools, where appropriate, to improve security workflows and analysis.
• Support operational security activities, including feature launch reviews, security documentation, and stakeholder communication.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Investigate and validate security vulnerabilities and contribute to ongoing platform hardening initiatives.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Security Engineer, Android. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Mountain View, CA (Hybrid).

Pay Range: $90 - $105/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:
