Job summary

Mercor, a security-focused firm, seeks a Security Engineer (Coding Agent Experience) for a remote contract. You will use frontier AI coding agents to tackle complex security tasks and review model-generated code for vulnerabilities, while identifying edge cases and risk factors.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of security engineering experience, hands-on application/cloud/infrastructure security or vulnerability management, and familiarity with AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional security engineering experience.
• Experience with application security, cloud security, infrastructure security, or vulnerability management.
• Regular use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, or Gemini CLI.
• Ability to identify flaws in model-generated code and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex security engineering tasks.
• Review model-generated code and architectures for vulnerabilities and security risks.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and security-related failure modes.
• Compare outputs from multiple frontier models to assess strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic security engineering scenarios.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.

Position: Security Engineer (Coding Agent Experience)
Type:Contract
Compensation:$85/hour
Location:Remote

Compensation & Legal

• $400 per accepted task.
