SideShift is building the operating system for the creator economy. We connect brands with creators and secure their data, accounts, and payments. We seek a Security Engineer to own security end-to-end, write code, and build guardrails for a fast-moving AI-driven team.

You will protect web apps, APIs, and iOS, model threats with engineers, and improve identity, access, and secrets management in a cloud-native stack. This is a hands-on, in-person NYC role.

Our web app is at the center of the customer experience. Brands use SideShift to launch campaigns, discover and interact with creators, and track performance.

THE ROLE

SideShift is looking for a Security Engineer to own the security of our platform from end to end. Brands and creators trust us with their accounts, their data, and their money. Your job is to protect that trust. You will set the direction, write the code, and build the guardrails that let a growing team and its AI agents ship fast and stay secure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own application security across our web app, APIs, and iOS app.
• Threat-model new features with engineers before they ship, and review security-sensitive code.
• Strengthen identity and access: authentication, authorization, session handling, and account protection.
• Own secrets management and credential rotation across our infrastructure and third-party integrations.
• Protect payment and payout flows from fraud and abuse.
• Own our cloud security posture, including IAM, network controls, and audit logging.
• Build detection and alerting, and lead incident response: containment, investigation, and a clear write-up afterward.
• Run penetration tests and our vulnerability disclosure program, and make sure every finding gets fixed.
• Add security checks to CI and to our AI-agent workflows, so that safe patterns are the default.
• Help customers and partners trust us: answer security reviews and questionnaires, and lay the groundwork for compliance as we grow.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 1–8 years in security engineering, application security, or software engineering with a strong security focus.
• You have shipped production code. Proficiency in TypeScript and Postgres is a strong plus.
• Deep knowledge of web application security: authentication, authorization, OAuth, and the OWASP Top 10.
• Hands-on cloud security experience. GCP experience is a plus.
• Experience with incident response and log-based investigation.
• Mobile security experience (iOS) is a plus.
• Highly resourceful and willing to dig into problems yourself.
• Excited about AI agents and automation, and about how to secure them.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Willing to work 5 days/week from our NYC office.

• Technical conversation with member of the Engineering Team;
• Work Trial -- we invite you to a paid 2-3 day working session with the team. We've found this is the best way for candidates and the SideShift team to feel confident in making a decision;
• Offer stage! After agreeing on employment terms, we'll talk to 3 references and send over final documents for signature.
