Job description

The Security Engineer will provide guidance and management on various security initiatives that are planned for implementation such as a Websense upgrade and SEP enhancements.

Responsibilities:

The Security Engineer will manage security programs already in place such as vulnerability management, and security event correlation and response, and security vulnerability assessments.

The Security Engineer will manage the use of an open source SIEM to assure that meaningful data is collected and correlated.

Plan and manage security initiatives such as:

- the implementation of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) firewall on endpoints.

- the upgrade of Websense from the old version to current.

- An on-going program of vulnerability assessments.

- Checkpoint firewall rule reviews

- The OSI model.

Qualification:

Experience commensurate with 4+ years:

- Set up and use of SIEM products to identify and act on security events. This environment uses OSSIM from Alien Vault, however, any experience working with data derived from SIEM products such as ArcSight, Q1, Splunk, etc. is just as applicable.

Implementation of Symantec Endpoint Protection including endpoint firewall.

Provide guidance on remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
