Job summary

Legato, LLC in Linthicum Heights, MD, is seeking a Data Scientist with TS/SCI w/ Polygraph to join a mission-driven team transforming security evaluation systems through automation and AI. The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, data preparation for reporting, and delivering actionable security insights.

Requirements include extensive experience with Python, ETL, ML, NLP, dashboards, and databases.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics.
• Experience programming in Python, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing ETL pipelines.
• Experience cleaning, transforming, and preparing data for analysis.
• Experience developing, tuning, and testing predictive models.
• Experience creating analytics dashboards, visualizations, and charts.
• Experience with Elastic.
• Experience with machine learning.
• Experience with NLP.
• Experience with regression and predictive analysis.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with MATLAB or R.
• Experience with SQL or MongoDB.
• Experience with Jupyter Notebook or Google Colab.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Ten years of experience plus a Bachelor's and Master's degree are required.
• A Ph.D. may count as four years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Automate security evaluation processes using data science and AI.
• Develop and enhance automated capabilities replacing manual security assessments.
• Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines across multiple data sources.
• Process data with Python for analysis and visualization.
• Support data engineering operations including data quality checks and monitoring.
• Enable scalable dataflows for continuous monitoring and RMF automation.
