Job summary

VTG is seeking a skilled Network Engineer in Chantilly, VA with 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise networks. You will design LAN/WAN, configure routers/switches/firewalls, monitor performance, and ensure security and high availability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration.
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP.
Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper/Arista hardware and firewalls.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure.
Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity; identify and resolve issues.
Troubleshoot outages and bottlenecks across multiple environments.
Implement and maintain network security controls including VPNs and access controls.
Support upgrades, patches, and infrastructure improvements.
Collaborate with systems, cloud, and security teams to meet business needs.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
