Job summary

The Defense Information Systems Agency at Ft. Meade, MD is seeking a GS-14 IT supervisor to manage a branch, plan work, assign tasks, and ensure delivery of IT services in support of national security missions.

Candidates must have specialized IT experience, meet time-in-grade requirements, obtain a Top-Secret clearance, and be eligible for SCI access; a DAWIA IT III and RMCT Level B are required within stated timeframes.

• Attention to Detail - experience reviewing IT-related work or data for accuracy and consistency with standards.
• Customer Service - develop and maintain relationships with customers and IT needs.
• Oral Communication - brief senior management and IT staff on status of IT systems and operations.
• Problem Solving - identify alternatives to address IT-related issues and evaluate sources.

Responsibilities

• Preforms the full range of first line supervisory duties. Plans work to be accomplished, sets priorities and schedules work to be completed within the Branch.
• Accept, amend, or reject work presented by subordinates. Insure that staff is effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs, structuring assignments to create effective and economic recommendations.
• Balance workload and provides advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of technical and process related issues. Coordinates, plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate.
• Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities to include counseling employees, recommending and selecting candidates for vacancies, promotions, reassignments and details, inconsideration of skills, qualifications, mission requirements.
• Develops, modifies and/or interprets performance standards. Appraises performance, recommend awards, hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management. Approves leave.
