Job summary

Avalore is seeking a Data Scientist to develop AI/ML models through training, fine-tuning, feature engineering, benchmarking, and deployment preparation. You will apply scientific methodology to extract insights and create predictive capabilities from data.

You will analyze complex datasets, select algorithms, engineer features, validate models, tune hyperparameters, and prepare deployments, while collaborating with domain experts and mentoring junior data scientists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; in a relevant field such as CS, data science, or STEM.
• Secret Security Clearance required for Junior/Journeyman; higher clearances for Senior roles.
• Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Avalore will not sponsor visas.
• Multiple levels: Junior (0-3 years), Journeyman (4-7 years), Senior (8+ years) with Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML models through training, fine-tuning, feature engineering, benchmarking, and deployment preparation.
• Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns and relationships; select algorithms and engineer features to improve model performance.
• Design and validate models, tune hyperparameters, and prepare production-ready deployments.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and AI/ML engineers; mentor junior data scientists.
