Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) seeks a candidate with at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 to perform personnel security support duties. Responsibilities include badge issuance, access control, fingerprinting, visitor management, and ensuring compliance with governing regulations.

Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work, is qualifying and credit is given for all qualifying experience.

Competenze

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-04 in the federal service.
• Experience in personnel security support including creating, controlling, and monitoring issuance of identification and building access badges, visitor parking passes, parking control, fingerprinting, security desk, and key control.
• Administrative support duties including creating and maintaining reports, greeting visitors and guests, and ensuring administrative support work is performed in compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines and policies.
• Volunteer work can count as qualifying experience.

Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.

Telework availability is limited and will only be provided on a rare case‑by‑case basis during situations where Agency Leadership has determined that telework serves a compelling DoD need.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-04) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in personnel security support, to include creating, controlling, and monitoring the issuance of identification and building access badges, visitor parking passes, parking control, fingerprinting, security desk, and key control; performing administrative support duties, including creating and maintaining reports, greeting visitors and guests, and ensuring administrative support work is performed in compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines and policies.

Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
