Job summary

Echo Neurotechnologies seeks an experienced Security Engineer to lead security architecture, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based data platform, applications and medical devices. You will be the primary technical expert, working with internal quality stakeholders and external security vendors to enforce security across systems in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong foundations in secure cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and API/mobile security practices.
• Proven experience designing security controls for local device connections (BLE, Wi‑Fi, USB) and device provisioning/identity management.
• Deep understanding of secure transport (HTTPS/TLS) and data cryptography for at-rest/in-transit security.
• Hands-on threat modeling (STRIDE, Attack Trees), CVSS-based risk assessment, and monitoring threat databases (NIST NVD, CISA KEV).
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate security tasks.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and communicate risks clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio security across devices and apps; establish security review processes for new products and features.
• Architect and maintain the security posture of the platform and regulatory-compliant controls.
• Guide security features through product lifecycle, from requirements to documentation and vulnerability tracking.
• Prototype security requirements and educate engineering on secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, quality and regulatory teams; manage external security vendors and pen-test partners.
