Job summary

Lightning Labs is hiring a Security Engineer to scale our security practices across a growing engineering org. This hands-on role focuses on policies and procedures for best practices in systems security, with emphasis on securing web, Bitcoin, and Lightning Network related services.

You will design testing infrastructures, perform security audits, mentor teammates, and shape global security standards as we expand across distributed teams and production environments.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in systems security.
• Experience securing web, Bitcoin and public‑facing services.
• Experience with penetration testing and source code security reviews.
• Familiarity with Bitcoin/Lightning cryptography is a plus.
• Experience working with distributed teams and open source projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy fuzzing, testing, and penetration testing infrastructure for open source and production systems.
• Perform security audits of internal production systems and open source software interfacing with Bitcoin/Lightning.
• Mentor teammates and drive security maturity across the org.
• Create and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Oversee security aspects of release processes and infrastructure.
• Define security requirements for future growth and incidents management.
