Job summary

TM Floyd & Company is seeking a Security Analyst for a remote role focused on security monitoring, incident response, and threat detection. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across SIEM/EDR/IDS-IPS, plus familiarity with dashboards and reporting to support large SOC operations.

The role requires 2 years of relevant experience and an Associate degree or equivalent experience. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $115,000 per year, with benefits and E-Verify participation.

Responsibilities

• Review and correlate security event data across SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intel to identify complex attack patterns and incidents.
• Perform deep-dive analysis of suspicious activity, validate incidents, determine root cause and impact, and elevate critical incidents with context to Tier 3 as needed.
• Create detailed incident reports, timelines, and post-incident summaries; contribute to lessons-learned docs and remediation recommendations.
• Investigate user-reported phishing, malware infections, and potential policy violations.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with the Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM/XDR platform
• Knowledge of Linux network administration and network design
• Experience in administration of firewalls, VPN Technology, Active Directory, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and correlate security event data across SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence sources to identify complex attack patterns, emerging threats, and security incidents
• Perform deep-dive analysis of suspicious activity, validate incidents, determine root cause and impact, and elevate critical incidents with detailed context to Tier 3 as required

• Investigate user-reported phishing, malware infections, and potential policy violations

Education/Certifications:

• Associate degree in an information technology or information security-related field; OR
• 4 years of relevant work experience may be substituted instead of education

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in security monitoring and incident response, with a focus on telecommunications and the CK framework. They should be adept at dashboard creation and reporting and possess experience with the Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM/XDR platform. Additionally, knowledge of Linux network administration, network design, and administration of firewalls, VPN technology, Active Directory, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000.
