Job summary

HACKTECH is seeking an Information Security Fresher to assist in protecting sensitive data and maintaining a secure IT environment. The role involves monitoring controls, assisting risk assessments, and supporting regulatory compliance.

You will work with IT and business teams to address security gaps, perform basic vulnerability checks, and contribute to incident response and awareness initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of information security experience.
• Bachelor’s in CS/IT/Cyber Security or related field.
• Fundamental knowledge of CIA triad and risk concepts.
• Basic IAM, encryption, and data protection principles.
• Familiar with OWASP basics.

Responsibilities

• Monitor information security systems, logs, and alerts to detect incidents.
• Assist in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
• Support basic risk and vulnerability assessments on apps and infrastructure.
• Assist in regulatory compliance efforts (IRDAI, ISO 27001, data protection).
• Support access control management (user reviews, privileges).
• Participate in incident investigation, documentation, and reporting.
• Assist in data protection initiatives including encryption and backups.
• Help with security awareness and phishing simulations.
• Maintain documentation related to controls and audits.
• Coordinate with IT/business teams to address security gaps.

Job Summary

The Information Security Fresher will support the organization's efforts to protect sensitive customer, financial, and policy data. This role involves monitoring security controls, assisting in risk assessments, supporting compliance with insurance and regulatory standards, and helping maintain a secure IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring information security systems, logs, and alerts to detect potential security incidents
• Support implementation and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and procedures
• Help conduct basic risk assessments and vulnerability assessments on applications and infrastructure
• Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (IRDAI, ISO 27001, data protection laws, etc.)
• Support access control management (user access reviews, privilege management)
• Participate in incident response activities such as investigation, documentation, and reporting
• Assist in data protection initiatives including encryption, backup verification, and secure data handling
• Help with security awareness programs and phishing simulations for employees
• Maintain documentation related to security controls, incidents, and audits
• Coordinate with IT, application, and business teams to address security gaps

Required Skills & Knowledge

Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of information security concepts (CIA triad, risk, threats, vulnerabilities)

Familiarity with:

• Network security fundamentals
• Operating systems (Windows/Linux basics)
• Firewalls, antivirus, endpoint security concepts

Basic knowledge of:

• Identity & Access Management (IAM)
• Encryption and data protection principles
• Secure application development concepts (OWASP basics)

Tools (Exposure preferred, not mandatory)

• SIEM tools (basic awareness)
• Vulnerability scanning tools
• Microsoft security tools or similar platforms

Experience - 1-3 years.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in:

• Computer Science
• Information Technology
• Cyber Security
• Electronics or related field

Preferred Certifications (Optional)

• ISO 27001 Foundation
• CEH (Beginner level)
• CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent knowledge)
