Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) seeks an experienced Security Analyst II to grow and operate its agency IT Security Program. You will apply broad IT security knowledge across networks, servers, storage, apps, databases and endpoints, leading projects and guiding junior staff as needed.

The role emphasizes advanced analysis, incident response, and implementation of new controls, with opportunities to influence policies and standards.

Qualifications

• IT security experience of 4–7 years.
• Strong attention to detail is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform IT security risk assessments and develop remediation strategies.
• Research vendor offerings and conduct proofs of concept.
• Coordinate with teams to implement new technologies and remediate issues.
• Monitor asset inventory, device status, and security controls.
• Review vulnerability dashboards and assess threats to the organization.
• Produce security reports and metrics to inform leadership.
• Draft and maintain policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
