Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Forensics / Malware Security Analyst to support a 24x7 Security Operations Center in Chandler, AZ or Washington DC. The role requires security clearance, strong malware analysis skills, and a track record in digital forensics.

You will conduct advanced investigations, perform reverse engineering, and produce actionable reports to guide incident response and containment efforts while maintaining rigorous chain-of-custody procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field; 8 years of relevant experience or 4 more years in lieu.
  • Minimum of 5 years of digital forensics and malware analysis.
  • Expertise in advanced network and digital media analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with malware reverse engineering and behavioral analysis.
  • Proficiency using virtual machine sandboxing and malware detonation tools.
  • Experience maintaining forensic chain-of-custody and evidentiary integrity.
  • U.S. citizenship and Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support 24x7 SOC operations through advanced forensic and malware investigations.
  • Perform malware analysis and reverse engineering to identify capabilities and IOCs.
  • Conduct advanced network and digital media forensics, including endpoint, memory, and log analysis.
  • Support incident response including evidence collection, containment, and recovery.
  • Maintain strict chain-of-custody procedures and forensic documentation.
  • Utilize VM sandboxing and detonation environments to safely analyze artifacts.
  • Correlate forensic findings with SOC alerts, threat intel, and adversary TTPs.
  • Produce detailed technical reports and briefings for SOC leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 8 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of specific experience in digital forensics and malware analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced network and digital media analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with malware reverse engineering and behavioral analysis.
  • Proficiency using virtual machine sandboxing and malware detonation tools.
  • Experience maintaining forensic chain-of-custody procedures and evidentiary integrity.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.
Preferred:
  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility preferred.
