Job summary

Global Guardian is seeking a GSOC professional to monitor and respond to security events on-site in San Mateo, CA. The role involves real-time analysis, threat alerts, and coordination of security personnel across incidents, with a focus on protecting people and operations.

Qualified candidates will have a security management background and strong experience with surveillance, access control, and mass notification systems; certifications are desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management or related field; 3+ years in emergency/crisis ops.
  • Familiar with video surveillance, access control, threat intelligence, mass notification, and incident case management systems.
  • CPP/PSP certifications desirable.
  • Excellent vigilance, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; able to work independently and de-escalate high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide centralized monitoring for critical events including natural disasters, civil unrest, and cyber threats.
  • Perform predictive and real-time analysis to assess risk and issue real-time threat alerts.
  • Monitor mission-critical operations and employee locations in real time.
  • Assess travel-related risk inputs (flight patterns, hotels, high-risk destinations, transportation).
  • Dispatch security officers, facilities, and on-site EMS personnel as needed.
  • Answer routine and emergency calls as a calm security contact for distressed individuals.
  • Maintain records for security systems maintenance and repairs.
  • Use mass communication systems to notify Crisis Management Team and leaders.
  • Collect, compile, and report information on incidents during duty.
  • Monitor CCTV and escalate threat detections; maintain alarm logs.
  • Operate multi-line telephone and radio equipment.
  • Escalate critical event information to shift supervisor and GSOC manager.
  • Foster relationships with third-party security providers, law enforcement, and emergency services.
  • Provide badge support and operation of badge-related equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Join the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) team to support 24/7 monitoring, analysis, dispatch, and incident reporting on-site.

Responsibilities
  • Provide centralized monitoring for critical events including natural disasters, civil unrest, and cyber threats, with rapid outreach to impacted personnel and stakeholders.
  • Perform predictive and real-time analysis to assess and manage security, safety, and product-related risks; issue real-time threat alerts to support decision-making and incident reduction.
  • Monitor and track mission-critical operations and employee locations in real time to support team safety and rapid adjustments to evolving threats or logistical changes.
  • Assess travel-related risk inputs including flight patterns, hotel locations, high-risk destinations, and transportation options to improve traveler safety and risk-reduction strategies.
  • Dispatch security officers, facilities, and on-site EMS personnel as needed using telephone and/or radio during security or medical incidents.
  • Answer routine and emergency calls, serving as a calm, collected security contact for people in distress.
  • Maintain accurate records for security systems maintenance, tracking repairs, problematic devices, and escalating damaged equipment to the Systems Team to ensure end-to-end repair completion.
  • Use mass communication systems to send urgent messages to the Crisis Management Team and operational leaders in line with established protocols.
  • Collect, compile, and report information on thefts, alarms, accidents, and other incidents occurring during duty.
  • Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), escalate threat detections, and maintain detailed alarm tracking records.
  • Operate multi-line telephone and radio equipment.
  • Escalate critical event information and complaints without delay to the shift supervisor, Site Ops Manager, and GSOC manager.
  • Support coordinated crisis response by building relationships with third-party security providers, law enforcement, and emergency services.
  • Provide limited access badge support, including operation of digital camera equipment, badge printing, coordination of badge activation, and distribution of new and/or replacement badges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field is highly recommended and/or more than 3 years of experience in emergency management, crisis management, emergency operations centers, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with video surveillance, access control, threat intelligence, mass notification, and incident case management systems.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or equivalent are desirable.
  • Exceptional vigilance and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisive, well-informed decisions.
  • Proven capability handling high-stress situations and de-escalating conflicts.
  • Emotional intelligence and awareness to manage high stress with candor.
