Job summary

Rover, headquartered in Seattle, is seeking a Security Analyst to lead vulnerability management and security operations across our corporate SaaS platforms and AWS-hosted apps. You will develop detection capabilities using Splunk, drive remediation, and advocate for AI-driven security automation.

The role requires 3+ years in information security, strong cloud experience, and collaboration skills to partner across teams and support audits and compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• BS in computer science, information systems, information security, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in information security, security operations, or vulnerability management, ideally spanning cloud computing and web apps.

• Experience with Splunk or similar SIEM/log analysis tooling.
• Strong communication skills and evidence of collaboration.
• Understanding of security technologies, systems, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Own and mature Rover's vulnerability management program: identify, prioritize, track, and drive remediation across SaaS and AWS cloud apps.
• Support day-to-day security operations: monitoring, triage, and investigation of security alerts and incidents.
• Build and refine Splunk searches, dashboards, and alerts to speed up security monitoring and investigations.
• Identify and apply AI and automation to improve security operations, vulnerability management, and reporting.
• Prepare documentation and evidence for audits and regulatory frameworks (SOX, PCI, GDPR, CCPA).
• Evaluate and propose enhancements to security plans, processes, and procedures.
• Develop analyses and reports on historical and potential security incidents, including root cause and impact.
• Research emerging security trends and technologies to keep Rover defended against threats.
• Provide recommendations to managers and leaders on security improvements.
• Promote security awareness and best practices across Rover.

We're looking for an innovative Security Analyst to join our Information Security team. In this role, you'll help drive Rover's vulnerability management program and day-to-day security operations — identifying and prioritizing risk across our corporate SaaS systems and AWS-hosted cloud applications, and working to remediate it before it becomes a problem. You'll use Splunk and other tooling to make our monitoring, detection, and investigation work faster and more effective, and you'll look for ways to apply AI and automation to eliminate manual toil across security operations and vulnerability management.

You’ll work alongside dedicated technical and non-technical professionals who make Rover.com the world's leading platform for pet care services, and you'll be expected to stay ahead of the curve on emerging security threats, standards, and technologies.

This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Downtown Seattle Office two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate.

• Own and mature Rover's vulnerability management program: identify, prioritize, track, and drive remediation of vulnerabilities across corporate SaaS systems and AWS-hosted cloud applications
• Support day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, triage, and investigation of security alerts and incidents
• Build and refine Splunk searches, dashboards, and alerts that improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of security monitoring and investigations
• Identify and implement opportunities to use AI and automation to increase the efficiency of security operations, vulnerability management, and compliance reporting
• Work cross-functionally to prepare documentation and evidence for audits and regulatory frameworks (SOX, PCI, GDPR, CCPA)
• Evaluate existing security plans, processes, and procedures, and propose enhancements
• Develop analyses and reports on historical and potential security incidents, including root cause and business impact
• Research emerging security trends and technologies to keep Rover's defenses current
• Make recommendations to managers and senior leaders on security improvements to better protect company systems
• Promote security awareness and best practices among Roverines to elevate company-wide security culture

• BS in computer science, information systems, information security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of experience in information security, security operations, or vulnerability management, ideally spanning cloud computing and web applications
• Demonstrated experience working with AWS or other cloud platform technologies
• Experience with Splunk or similar SIEM/log analysis tooling
• Strong communication skills with a proven track record of collaboration and teamwork
• Demonstrated understanding of and experience with security-related technologies, systems, and tools

• Proficiency with Python, Django, SQL, JavaScript, or mobile application development
• Experience building Splunk searches, dashboards, or detections at scale
• Practical experience applying AI or automation tools to streamline security operations, vulnerability management, or reporting workflows
• Experience in threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and scoring systems (e.g., CVSS)
• Practical experience with IAM role and policy development and efficacy evaluation
• Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, etc.)

• In the greater Seattle area the first-year salary range is $118,476 – $148,095. Additionally, Rover offers benefits to full-time employees.
• The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
