Job summary

Success Academy is a rapidly growing network of public charter schools with a mission to provide every student a fair shot at reaching their potential, regardless of zip code or economic status. We are expanding in New York and Florida and invite passionate security professionals to join our team.

We are looking for a Security Analyst to join our Information Security & Privacy team. This role is critical to building, strengthening, and operationalizing our security programs in a K‑12 school environment.

Position Overview

The Security Analyst will be hands‑on across multiple domains—security operations, endpoint protection, cloud security, data loss prevention, compliance, and privacy—while partnering closely with business and technology teams to embed security into all functions. The position reports to the Head of Security & Privacy and is based at our Manhattan headquarters (10005), 3 days a week onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Endpoint Security: Manage and monitor Crowdstrike, identify vulnerabilities, investigate alerts, and lead incident response & remediation efforts
• Email Security: Support and build email compliance and DLP rules; proactively defend against advanced phishing techniques
• Security Operations: Partner with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to integrate security into organizational workflows
• Program Building: Lead implementation of scalable security processes, covering incident response, access management, vulnerability management, and DLP
• Cloud Security: Support security for AWS and GCP environments, working with cloud engineering to resolve vulnerabilities
• Security Tooling: Stay ahead of emerging threats and trends, recommend and evaluate new security tools

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in information security roles within technology‑driven organizations
• Technical Skills:
  • Hands‑on experience with Crowdstrike Falcon or similar endpoint security platforms
  • Google Workspace security administration (Gmail rules, DLP, monitoring)
  • Advanced email security platforms (Sublime, Mimecast, Proofpoint, Abnormal, etc.)
  • Identity access management platforms (Okta)
  • AWS and GCP infrastructure implementation, security controls, IAM, monitoring, and Wiz
• Compliance & Privacy: Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, FERPA, and other privacy regulations
• Mindset: Meticulous and tenacious in identifying and resolving security risks
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to convey security concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
• Location: Hybrid – onsite at Manhattan headquarters Tuesday through Thursday

Compensation: $130,000—$145,000 USD. This position is not bonus eligible.
