Job summary

Innosoft is seeking a cybersecurity Network Engineer for a 12-month contract in Columbia, United States. The Office of Cybersecurity needs hands-on experience with routing/switching, firewall rules, and security monitoring to support daily operations and complex initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in network design or security, certifications such as PCNSE or CCNA, and experience with QRadar/Splunk, Nessus/Qualys, and cloud networks (Azure or AWS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• Network/security-focused certification such as PCNSE or CCNA.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in network design, implementation, or support.
• Experience with IT security or system administration.
• Knowledge of security compliance tools and data protection models.
• Ability to analyze security logs and network telemetry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support SOC operations reporting to the SOC Lead.

Project Overview

The Office of Cybersecurity ensures theconfidentiality, integrity, and availability of SCDHH's systems and services.The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with data networkdesign best practices, routing and switching protocols, network security bestpractices, and on-premises and/or cloud networking environments. This rolerequires someone who can work independently on technical tasks while alsosupporting senior analysts on more complex cybersecurity and networkinitiatives.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Hands-on technical role reportingdirectly to the Office of Cybersecurity SOC Lead.
• Support SCDHHS leadership, businessunits, partners, and vendors with day-to-day cybersecurity operations.
• Experience with security and complianceframeworks such as CMS ARC-AMPE, HIPAA, NIST, and FISMA RMF is stronglydesired.
• Perform repeatable security processessupporting compliant enterprise architectures.
• Support security requirements formulti-tenant cloud environments and vendor integrations.
• Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS,and Linux operating systems.
• Strong understanding of switching,routing, enterprise firewalls, and network auditing.
• Experience with IDS/IPS platforms andnetwork security monitoring.
• Experience with SIEM platforms,preferably QRadar or Splunk.
• Experience with vulnerability scanningtools such as Nessus and Qualys.

Requirements

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalentprofessional experience.
• A network/security-focused certification,such as PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer) orCCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).

Required Skills:

• Approximately 3-5 years of hands-onexperience in network design, implementation, or support.
• Hands-on experience in IT security orsystem administration.
• Working knowledge of secure networkdesign and security architecture.
• Knowledge of security compliance tools,data protection, and access-control models.
• Ability to analyze and interpret securitylogs, alerts, and network telemetry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in regulatedenvironments.
• Experience supporting Health IT and/orstate government environments.
