Job Description

MAXISIQ is seeking a highly skilled Information Security Analyst to support a mission‑critical program near Fort Meade, MD. The successful candidate will play a lead role in safeguarding classified and sensitive information systems, ensuring compliance with DoD and federal cybersecurity policies, and driving proactive risk management across enterprise‑level networks and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead assessment and authorization (A&A) activities in support of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate cybersecurity risks in accordance with NIST, DoD, and agency‑specific guidelines.
  • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and security testing for systems and applications.
  • Develop and maintain security documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Advise engineering and program management teams on security controls, incident response, and system hardening strategies.
  • Monitor system logs and network activity to detect potential threats or anomalous behaviors.
  • Support insider threat prevention, data protection strategies, and classified data handling in accordance with security policies.
  • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity trends, technologies, and government requirements to ensure continued compliance and readiness.
Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in information security, cybersecurity operations, or system assurance.
  • Hands‑on experience with DoD RMF, NIST SP 800‑53, and related security frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in vulnerability management, SIEM tools, and incident response procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Equivalent Experience Substitution: Candidates without a four‑year degree may qualify with additional professional experience and current security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH, or GSEC. Preferred:

  • Knowledge of cloud security (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) and zero‑trust architectures.
  • Familiarity with security automation, compliance reporting tools, and continuous monitoring systems.
Work Environment
  • Collaborative environment interfacing with cybersecurity engineers, systems administrators, and program management teams.
  • May require occasional after‑hours support during security incidents or system upgrades.
