Quest Defense Systems & Solutions in Fort Wayne, IN, seeks a Secure Embedded Software Engineer with Rust experience to develop low‑level software for aerospace and defense systems. You will design, implement, test, and integrate secure embedded software across BSPs, device drivers, and hardware interfaces.

This onsite role offers relocation assistance and the opportunity to work with systems, hardware, and FPGA engineers on mission‑critical programs. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• Minimum five years embedding software experience.
• Experience BSPs, drivers, HALs, or hardware-interface software.
• Strong RTOS/real-time concepts.
• Experience with processors/SoCs/FPGA hardware.
• Secure software design practices.
• Version control experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Fort Wayne, IN.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure embedded software using Rust.
• Develop BSPs, drivers, and hardware interface software.
• Integrate software with FPGAs, SoCs, processors.
• Participate in requirements, architecture, and interface definition tasks.
• Apply secure software design throughout development lifecycle.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests.
• Support bring-up, HW/SW integration, debugging, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot issues across software, hardware, FPGA, and system boundaries.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA, cybersecurity, and test teams.
