Ideal candidates are pursuing a STEM or economics-related degree with Python/SQL/Excel experience and a strong interest in finance, with excellent communication skills for presenting findings to investment teams.

Citadel is focused on acquiring, cleaning, and analyzing large, unstructured data sets to generate new insights. Given the vast amount of data being produced, Citadel is implementing new research methodologies to identify significant trends. The Sector Data Scientist (SDS) team is committed to generating sustained alpha using a scientific approach to generate fundamental investment insights.

Your Objectives

• Learn fundamental investor approach and how data can enhance the research process
• Assist investment teams in understanding the key data drivers of companies and sectors
• Analyze data from multiple sources to test complex investment theses
• Quickly digest data, recognize inflection points, and determine data relevancy to the investment question at hand

Your Skills & Talents

• Pursing a bachelor’s in statistics, engineering, economics, business, computer science, or physics
• Experience with Python, SQL, and Excel
• Intellectual curiosity with a genuine interest in investing
• Professional demeanor, a capability to learn, think, and react quickly, along with exceptional communication and presentation skills as required for interaction with investment teams

In accordance with applicable law, the base salary range for this role is $2,800 to $0 per week.
