The University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks candidates forthe role of Section Chief of Colorectal Surgery in the Departmentof Surgery and Surgical Quality Officer for the University ofMaryland Medical Center (UMMC). Candidates for the full-timefaculty position should qualify for the rank of Associate Professoror Professor. The successful candidate will be board certified inColorectal Surgery and have a strong academic interest in qualityand safety.
Responsibilities will include building a robust clinical colorectalprogram at UMMC and contributing to the comprehensive growth ofcolorectal surgery throughout the medical system, while educatingmedical students, surgery residents, and fellows. As SurgicalQuality Officer for UMMC, the successful candidate will directsurgical quality improvement activities across all surgicalsubspecialties of the medical center with the direct support of theDepartment of Quality Improvement.

Salary Range: $346,354 - $567,168
The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based onfaculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not includeall components of the DEPARTMENTAL faculty compensation program orpay from participation in DEPARTMENTAL variable compensationprograms. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selectedcandidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For moreinformation, please contact the hiring department.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximumsalaries for this position and is based on the University ofMaryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time ofposting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end ofthe salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selectedcandidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors,which may include the successful candidate's geographic location,skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions,education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined bythe University.
