NYC Public Schools is seeking a Section 504 Training Coordinator to organize and deliver comprehensive 504 training across NYCPS. You will work with the Section 504 Program Director and deputy directors to develop trainings for 504 coordinators and school staff, ensuring alignment with Chancellor's Regulation A-710.
You will lead modules, update slides, voiceovers, and coordinate with DOHMH, OGC, and other offices, while continuously improving content and delivery.
Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) requires public schools to provide qualified students with disabilities reasonable accommodations that they need to participate in education programs and activities on an equal basis with their peers who do not have disabilities. Section 504 also protects students from disability related discrimination.
Reporting to the Section 504 Program Director (Office of School Health), the Section 504 Training Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all 504 related training courses and materials across New York City Public Schools (NYCPS). Performs related work.

Works closely with Section 504 Program Director and Deputy Director, Borough based Health Directors, NYCPS and OSH staff to develop and deliver comprehensive trainings related to Section 504 policies, procedures and compliance. Collaborates with school based staff, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), Office of the General Counsel (OGC), Department of Finance, Office of Student Enrollment (OSE), Office of Assessment, Division of Inclusive and Accessible Learning (DIAL), Department of Instructional and Information Technology (DIIT), Office of Language Access (OLA) and the Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) as necessary.
In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, individuals must have two additional years of relevant work experience.
$72,114 - $97,343
(Internal candidates who are selected for this position and who currently hold comparable or less senior positions within the DOE will not earn less than their current salary.)
