  • Perform special assignments for the supervisor (one-time or recurring).

This position is also being announced to applicants eligible to apply through Merit Staffing procedures under 26-RI-13073989-MS. GS-08: To be eligible at the GS-08 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following duties:

  • exercising control over the supervisor's calendar for all appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences;
  • receiving telephone calls and visitors, screening those which could be handled without supervisor's help;
  • reading, screening, and controlling incoming mail;
  • preparing necessary documents for investigative and litigative steps;
  • organizes electronic case files, discovery materials, exhibits and other legal documents;
  • performing a variety of special assignments of a one-time or recurring nature for the supervisor;
  • and providing the supervisor with information, feedback, opinions, suggestions, and recommendations on various administrative matters and topics.

GS-09: To be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following types of duties:

  • reviewing all outgoing correspondence prepared for the supervisor's signature, e.g., action documents, case files, legal documents, and reports;
  • composing a variety of written material for the supervisor's signature;
  • developing a variety of recurring reports and documents which involve obtaining information from staff, subject files or other sources;
  • arranging conferences and meetings for the supervisor;
  • organizing electronic case files, discovery materials, exhibits and other legal documents.

To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
