Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Secret Systems Engineer to support the development and delivery of tactical fire control and battle management systems in Dahlgren, VA. This individual will leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to develop system architectures, manage requirements, support software integration efforts, and ensure traceability throughout the system lifecycle. This position requires an active Secret Clearance, 3+ years of Systems Engineering experience, 1+ year supporting software-centric systems, and hands-on experience with SysML/UML modeling tools. This role will partner closely with software, hardware, test, configuration management, training, and customer stakeholders to deliver mission-critical defense capabilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field; OR equivalent hands-on experience supporting weapon systems
• 3+ years of professional Systems Engineering experience
• 1+ year of experience supporting software-centric systems or software integration efforts
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML/UML modeling
• Experience using MBSE tools (such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar)
• Experience developing, decomposing, and tracing system requirements
• Experience supporting system integration, verification, and validation activities
• Experience working across software, hardware, and cross-functional engineering teams

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience
• Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience supporting DoD, Navy, weapon systems, fire control systems, or command and control systems
• Familiarity with digital engineering concepts, digital thread, and digital twin initiatives
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Jira
• Experience developing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and message standards
• Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• INCOSE, OMG SysML, ASEP, CSEP, or similar systems engineering certifications
