Job summary

Patriot Maritime in Houston, TX seeks a Port Engineer to oversee safe operation of a fleet and lead vessel maintenance programs. You will supervise day-to-day technical and crew-related issues, coordinate with the Chief Engineer, and ensure compliance with Safety and Quality standards.

Active SECRET level security clearance or ability to obtain one is required. The role involves travel up to 15% annually, and up to 50% during shipyard years.

Qualifications

• Minimum demonstrated experience as Port Engineer with shipyard dry-dock leadership.
• Experience managing maintenance and repair on ocean-going ships.
• Strong budgeting and contract negotiation skills for multi-million projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe operation of vessels and cost-effective management of the fleet.
• Supervise day-to-day vessel problems and crew-related issues.
• Ensure operations comply with Safety and Quality Management programs.
• Review vessel reports and respond with comments and corrective actions.
• Maintain familiarity with IIPP and ensure vendor reports are signed by Chief Engineer.
• Inspect maintenance records and manage planned maintenance activities.
