Job summary

QTEC Aerospace is seeking software engineers to join a missile defense-focused team in Huntsville, AL. You will specialize in Java development within a multi-contractor environment and contribute across the software lifecycle.

The role requires strong Java/J2EE experience, ability to work in-person, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Relevant knowledge includes Linux, SDLC practices, and DevSecOps awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng with 2+ years of relevant experience; or Master's with 0+ years; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree.
• Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong Java/J2EE and OO design experience; C++ also valued; knowledge of Linux, build pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.

Responsibilities

• In-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, and user support.
• Develop or modify operating system applications from specifications.
• Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs.
• Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems and improve OS efficiency.
• Design, code, test, and implement tools for operational automation.
• Contribute across multiple phases of software systems programming, with guidance as needed.
• Willingness to take on unanticipated tasks.
