Job summary

Kenedy ISD seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to develop and implement IEPs through ARD, coordinating with families and staff to support students with special needs.

The role involves delivering individualized instruction, assessing learning styles, and adapting curricula while collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure inclusive education and compliance with SPED requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required SPED endorsements.
• Current first aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parents, students, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional or therapeutic programs with written preparation evidence.
• Assess learning styles and tailor instructional strategies accordingly.
• Present material per IEP guidelines using varied methods and technology.
• Collaborate with general teachers to modify curricula and support students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings and media/resource selection.
