Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Test Engineering Technician Supervisor, Second Shift for Vertiv's Thermal Lab in Columbus, Ohio. You will lead a specialized team of Test Technicians, overseeing design validation testing and ensuring safety and 5S in the lab.

You will mentor employees, manage resources, plan budgets, calibrations, and collaborate with Test Engineers to deliver reliable test results and customer witness events.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent process and managerial experience.
• 5+ years of experience with new product development processes and expectations.
• Strong focus on personal interaction and coordination with technicians to build rapport and improve performance.
• Well versed on tools and techniques to properly plan, track test activities and to ensure products are thoroughly tested.
• Strong ability to recognize and willingness to investigate and evaluate alternative practices.
• Ability to interface with customers and to demonstrate product performance/compliance relative to customer needs.
• Meet or exceed new product development and new product introduction requirements and deadlines.
• Adequately address and resolve through interaction with human resources, employee relations issues, performance issues, succession planning, etc.
• Sign off on test results and product release readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day laboratory operations, including daily workload planning, resource allocation, and test execution oversight to achieve product development goals.
• Direct and mentor Test Technicians team, ensuring proper training, safety compliance, and professional development while overseeing test results and reporting quality.
• Manage lab facilities, equipment, and resources, including maintenance scheduling, calibration processes, and capital/operational expense planning.
