Qualifications

Job description

Viking Plastics – Jeffersonville is currently looking for a responsible Second Shift Supervisor to join our growing team! Include, but not limited to :

• Establishing yourself as a leader while also being results driven
• Be a leader in our Lean Manufacturing culture
• Participate in team building activities for various roles and direct reports through training, coaching, mentoring, counseling, etc.
• Coordinate with and manage employees from other departments when their direct supervisor is not present on shift.
• Participate and lead continuous improvement activities within the facility
• Assure safety of all employees and enforce safety policies
• Assure IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 compliance through procedure adherence and paperwork flow
• Assign personnel to workstations and ensure machine operation is done in a safe and efficient manner
• Communicate with other shifts and personnel for overall efficient operation of entire process
• Review and approve reporting of production, scrap and downtime
• Ensure all policies and procedures are enforced and followed by all reports
• Sign off on work hours for direct reports and assist in evaluations and discipline issues
• Enter manufacturing floor transactions into ERP system
• Maintain and improve cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facility
• Attend meetings and training as required
• Perform other assigned duties as required

Experience / Skills

• 5 years’ experience as a supervisor, manager or other leadership role preferred
• Hands on experience with the injection molding process preferred
• Previous experience in lean manufacturing techniques preferred
• Previous ERP system experience – IQMS preferred
• Problem solving experience and abilities
• Ability to effectively communicate at every level within the organization
• Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multitask and stay organized
• Previously displayed mechanical aptitude and/or ability to train and learn technical aspects of the operation preferred
